Welcome to the Caddo Parish District Public Defender Office under the direction of the Chief District Public Defender, Mary L. Harried. Our office is dedicated to providing the highest quality legal services and protecting the constitutional rights of every client. We provide quality legal assistance to individuals charged with a crime in Caddo Parish District Court, Caddo Parish Juvenile Court and Shreveport City Court who are financially unable to retain private counsel.

It is the mission of the Caddo District Public Defender Office to courageously and creatively defend the constitutional rights of our clients, providing zealous legal representation, meeting the highest ethical and professional standards. Our goal is to provide effective client-centered legal representation for those financially unable to retain private counsel. We provide uncompromised advocacy for out client’s interests. We deal ethically with our clients, the Court, and all other representatives of the legal system.
